Azure for Students

Eligibility

• Students 18+ at accredited institutions
• No credit card required for starter tier in supported regions

Steps

1. Step 1: Visit Azure for Students: Go to azure.microsoft.com/free/students and sign in with Microsoft account.
2. Step 2: Verify academic status: Complete student verification through Microsoft verification flow.
3. Step 3: Activate credits: Claim free Azure credit and note the renewal/expiration policy.
4. Step 4: Deploy dev resources: Use credits for VMs, App Service, or GitHub Codespaces companion services as needed.

• GitHub Student Developer Pack — Indirect route: verify student status, then browse partner tiles — JetBrains, Copilot, Azure, Namecheap, and dozens more may unlock here even when the vendor has no standalone student page.
• Azure for Education institution tenant — Some schools provide Azure labs through faculty — ask your professor for course subscription keys.
